Infant to Size 16 clothing

We sell children's clothing Premie through size 20 as well as maternity sizes (limit 20 maternity clothing items per consignor).  Be picky. Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them. No stained or damaged items will be accepted, and will be rejected at inspection. Please freshly clean your clothing items. Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads. Please button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive for drop off. This will ensure that there are no defect in the clothing. The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell.

For our Spring sale, the season is Spring and Summer clothing (what could be worn March-September)

For our Back to School Sale, this is all seasons, but please emphasize the need for school-age clothing size 5T and bigger.

For our Fall sale, the season is Fall and Winter only (what could be worn October-March).

JBF Seattle East / Issaquah accepts all types of hangers- the only requirement is that the hanger fit the clothing (see below for more info).

Package & Hanging:

Hangers- Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark). Hang size 0-6 clothing on child size hangers and sizes 7-20 and maternity on adult size hangers. Clothing that falls off the hanger onto the floor does not sell well.

Clothing Sets- Sets tend to sell better (under size 6) so match things up if you can. All garment should be hung together. Use a safety pin or tagging gun to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.

Pants/Shorts- Pant-clip hangers are great but if you use a standard hanger, simply use your tagging gun to attach pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide.
Onesie, socks, tights, hats, and infant mittens- need to be in a clear zip-lock bag (you may group multiple items in one bag). Please be sure to label your tag well so that customers know exactly what the items are. You can choose to hang your onesies on hangers, or package 4+ into a bag. Please fold and display these within the clear Ziploc bag so it is easy to see and inspect them.

Tagging:

Clothing on hangers- attach tag with a tagging gun or safety pin to the label of shirt or upper right front of pants. Insert the gun in a label or inside seam NOT through part of the clothing (to avoid making a hole or tear in the clothing). Also, pull on the tag ot make sure it is properly secured and will not come of easily. Please make sure consignor tags are pulled out of the clothing so they are easily visible to the customers.

Non-Hanging Clothing- Please use tagging gun or safety pins to attach tags to onesies, socks tights, infant mittens and accessories. Be sure to also attach multiple pieces together. Then put these items into clear Ziploc bags. Please do not tape the bags closed- shoppers may want to feel and inspect items before purchasing. You can also use clear packing tape to tape the tag to the outside of the bag. Please be sure you label exactly how many items are inside the bag.

Large items *Hot Sellers*

Exersaucers, swings, highchairs, changing tables, cribs (manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011; please bring crib waiver for all cribs), strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, care seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls, must have all parts, and be in good condition. Toys, Books, Games, DVD's, Arts & Crafts

No stuffed animals or beanie babies (ONLY battery operated animals/characters and name brand, ie Disney, Pixar, etc).

Package: Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in self-seal bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

Price: Price 50%-75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag: Attach JBF tag directly to the item with clear packing tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Books, book sets, board games, puzzles, video games, video game systems, scrapbook, arts & craft sets are great items for resale. Please only bring kids’, parenting, homeschooling, pregnancy, and child rearing books. Games and puzzles must have all pieces. (Absolutely NO ‘adult’ content please). Check items to ensure they are in great condition. No VHS allowed, and DVD/Bluray must be G, PG, or PG-13.

Package: Use clear, self-seal bags or clear cling wrap to hold multiple items together; tie sets of books together with ribbon/string. Be sure that parts/games to video games systems (such as Vtech) cannot be separated or switched out at the sale. Be sure to be VERY descriptive on the JBF tags, in the case that a tag gets lost from the item, it makes it easier for us to find it and reattach it.

Price: Prices can range from $0.50-$50 in this category, depending on the item. Price to sell especially for books & DVDs as there are always lots to choose from at the sale. If you would like a high priced item placed in the High Value area, please see a volunteer during Drop Off.

Tag: When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with clear tape that can be removed without damaging the item. Tape tag to outside cover of glossy books and the inside cover of books that will easily tear when removing the tag. Please do not use masking or double sided tape. Hole-punch JBF tag and tie to sets.

Shoes

Make sure that all shoes are clean, clean, clean! We will be VERY selective with shoes during inspection. Shoes must be within current season (Fall= October-March, Spring= April-October).  It’s amazing what you can clean with a Magic Eraser! So much comes out with a little scrubbing. It’s worth an extra couple of minutes to get items shining clean as these items sell best at the sale.

Package: Fasten shoes together with zip-ties, string, or ribbon. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear Ziploc bag. We prefer no shoes boxes, however, if shoes are in the box please remove the lid and secure it to the bottom of the box, and secure the shoes to the box (closed boxes do not sell well).

Price: Shoes must be in good condition, and have shoe laces. Pricing should start around $3.00 for infant/toddler; add $1 each for larger size, name brand, or heavy/winter.

Tag: Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with the ribbon, string, or zip tie. For infant shoes in a clear Ziploc bag, put the tag inside the bag and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. You can also use clear packing tape to tape the tag to the outside of the bag if you prefer.

Bedding, Blankets, & Textiles

Bedding sizes accepted are bassinet through twin only. Please be selective when selling bedding, blankets, receiving blankets, burp cloths, and towels. New and barely used items sell best. Check carefully for stains; shoppers get very disappointed if they find a stain in a bundled blanket once they get home. We do not accept crib bumpers of any sort.

Package: Put bedding/crib/bedroom sets together in original packaging or in giant clear plastic bags. Arrange bedding sets inside bag so that shoppers can see all of the items as well as the design/pattern (you can also attach a picture of the item to the bag so shoppers can fully see what the item looks like). Secure the bag so that items do not get separated. Bundle blankets, cloths and towels with ribbon or string like a package.

Price: Price to sell! Shoppers are less likely to purchase these items used, so prices have to be low. Try to price 75%-90% off retail.

Tag: If bedding is in a plastic bag, attach tag securely with packing tape to the inside of the bag and tape the bag shut. If bedding/blankets are bundled with string, attach tag directly to blanket and tuck it under the ribbon/string so that it does not easily get pulled off when shifting around during the sale.

Tagging Gun Ettiquette

Please be mindful when using a tagging gun. Tagging gus are great to help save time in the prepping process, but they can easily ruin clothing, if not used properly.

Tagging gun tags must be attached by the clothing tag or inseam.

Any clothing items that have a tagging gun hole will be pulled from the sales floor as damaged.

POWER CONSIGNORS

We love our POWER CONSIGNORS!!

Power consignors are our consignors that bring 400+ items to the sale.

Power consignors must schedule thier drop off time for Tuesday evening. This is to ensure we have plenty of staff members to help with inspection.

If you are a Power Consignor (dropping off more 400-799 items), and you wish to pick up your unsold items, you are required to help for 2 hours during breakdown (this requirement is seperate from earning volunteer credits).

If you are dropping off 800-1299 items you are required to volunteer for 2- 2 hour sorting shifts.

For every 400 items that a power consignor brings equals 1- 2 hour sorting shift and 1- $11 consignor fee from their check.

TIPS FOR SELLING SUCCESS

Here are some quick tips to help your items sell!

1. Join our Facebook group, exclusively for consignors!  If you have a question, chances are it's been asked in this group!  Click HERE.

2, Bring your best, and ensure your items are clean, smelling good, and in working order.

3. Aim to price at 75% off retail value.

4. Allow your items to be reduced on half-off day!

5. If bringing an item with multiple parts, list the contents on the tag.  If they're in a bag (like a bedding set) taping a picture of the complete set to the bag really helps our shoppers visualize it better!

6. Help at the sale!  You'll earn an extra 10% for your sold items-this percentage can really add up, and for some consignors is a difference of +$100!

Valet Tagging

No time to tag? Let us prep your items for you!

Do you have at least 100 items?

Are 80% of yoru items name brand? (Less than 20% of your items are from Target/Walmrt.)

If Valet tagging were not an option, would it be impossible for you to participate in the next JBF sale event?

If you answered yes to at least two of these questions, please email me at courtneyevans@jbfsale.com to request a Valet Tagging appointment. I will get you in touch with our valet tagger!

She does all the work, and you still earn money!

It's a win-win!
